Applying for a role at Schneider Electric – the Dos and Don’ts

Applying for a job at Schneider Electric is a process, starting with your online application. From there, the process normally includes a telephone interview, where we can assess your communication skills and company knowledge, a face to face interview and potentially a psychometrics test. Don’t forget that each of these stages are also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have. Make sure you use the time to find out if we are a good match for you too.

To help you stand out from the crowd, we’ve put together some useful ‘dos and don’ts’ to get you notice by our recruiters.

DO:

  • Be confident. Confidence is a good thing, so ask any questions you need answered
  • Your research. The more you know about the company, the more targeted information we can give you during interview stage. Our YouTube channel is a great starting point to find out more about us
  • Remember our company values. At Schneider Electric all of our employees are committed to our organisation’s principles. It’s important that every new candidate shares the same values and understands why they want to work at Schneider

DON’T:

  • Forget to include a cover letter (CV). A good cover letter needs to answer any obvious questions we might have when reading your CV. This includes your availability, why you’re interested in working at Schneider Electric and what areas appeal to you most
  • Be scared to include your interests and hobbies. We like to get to know our candidates and these can go at the end of the CV
  • Assume your CV can only take up one page. Your application is your first chance to tell us about yourself so if it is important and relevant, make sure you include it

SEC’s Action Against Decentralized Exchange Raises Constitutional Questions A recent public statement from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission implied that those engaged in writing and publishing code might need to worry about running afoul of securities laws. In its statement about the cease and desist order against the co-founder of decentralized cryptocurrency exchange EtherDelta, the SEC indicated that someone who simply “provides an algorithm” might be found to be running a securities exchange.  In the order itself, the SEC stated that EtherDelta’s creator had violated securities laws because he “wrote and deployed” code that he “should have known” would contribute to EtherDelta’s alleged violations. The services often sound relatively innocuous. Some vendors bill their tools as “automatic time tracking” or “workplace analytics” software. Others market to companies concerned about data breaches or intellectual property theft.
